Japanese Construction Company Shimizu announced July 5 that it was awarded a contract to build a 92,043m2 cancer treatment center in Singapore at 31 billion yen. The 24 story hospital is to become the nation’s first proton therapy center, with completion expected in 2020.

Singapore’s health ministry selected Shimizu based on its track records in healthcare facility construction over other bidders from Japan, South Korea, and Germany. The company has contracted with the ministry to build four hospitals including Changi General Hospital Medical Center. (2017/07/06)
