Japanese real estate developer Mori Trust in cooperation with Hilton group will develop two hotels with total 36,000m2 floor space in Okinawa Prefecture. The company will break ground in 2018 with opening expected in 2020-2021.
Mori Trust will construct two buildings in the 13.4 ha plot in Sesokojima Island, one of which is to be the Hilton’s first timeshare resort in Asia. President Miwako Date of Mori Trust said to the press on November 13 that Okinawa, attracting as many tourists every year as Hawaii, is in need of global standard hotel and long-term stay resort, announcing its plan to expand its properties in the nation’s southernmost prefecture to a thousand rooms in the future.
